On November 4 from 12-1 pm EST, Program Director Sabi Ardalan will join Bill Alford, Jerome A. and Joan L. Cohen Professor of Law and Director of the East Asian Legal Studies Program, and Gerald Neuman, J. Sinclair Armstrong Professor of International, Foreign, and Comparative Law, for a panel discussion on “Immigration and Detention Centers/Comparative International Issues Surrounding COVID-19.” This event is part of the COVID-19 and the Law: Law and Policy to Address Basic Needs and Marginalized Populations colloquium series, which brings together members of the Harvard Law School community to explore and assess, through discussions with various HLS experts, the legal responses to COVID-19 across numerous areas of law.
This session will explore how the Coronavirus pandemic has been handled both domestically and internationally, and the panelists will offer normative perspectives on some of the approaches taken by bodies like the World Health Organization, detention centers, and immigration courts.
