Welcoming our 2021-2022 undergraduate interns

We are pleased to welcome two new undergraduate students to our 2021-2022 internship program.

Ana BritoA person stands smiling in front of a city background at night. She has long dark hair and is wearing a black shirt.

Ana is a is a first-year student at Harvard College studying Government and Economics. She was born in Havana, Cuba, but immigrated to Miami, Florida when she was very young. Coming from an immigrant household herself and having lived in an immigrant-heavy community the majority of her life, Ana has bore firsthand witness to how difficult and arduous the immigration process can be in the United States. She feels strongly about helping others struggling through similar circumstances and hopes to eventually attend law school in the future to better advocate for the immigrant community.

Bryant ValenzuelaA person smiles at the camera with greenery in the background. He is wearing a backwards hat and flannel.

Bryant is a is a first-year student at Harvard University from El Paso, Texas. Throughout his time in El Paso, he has seen, first-hand, the treacherous experience of crossing the border in hopes of reaching U.S soil. As his parents, and a vast majority of his family, are immigrants themselves, he has found a profound passion in helping those who simply want to provide better for themselves and/or their families in the U.S. In the future, Bryant hopes to find his passions either in the fields of the sciences, law, or the intersections between public health and immigration law, and hopes to create a system where we use government funds to uplift immigrants rather than trying to deport them.

Welcome, Ana and Bryant!
